The Education Quality and Policy Office has a key role in reviewing and monitoring the educational provision offered by the University. The team provides a range of support for Departments, Faculties and Colleges and Schools, acting as a focal point for all aspects of educational enhancement and delivery.
Officers in EQPO are responsible for:
- managing and facilitating regular quality assurance reviews and monitoring procedures for courses within their remit;
- advising on, and being a critical friend to, new course approvals and modifications to existing courses;
- assisting departments in navigating governance structures related to education; and
- supporting the development of quality assurance mechanisms across the University.
In addition, each member of the team carries out University-wide projects within a specific policy area: for example, academic integrity, part-time courses, and student engagement. The Office supports a number of Committees that carry out governance in relation to education.
Members of the team work closely with colleagues across Education Services, and with the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Education, to carry out collaborative projects affecting all areas of the educational experience: for example, delivery and support for examination procedures, and development of a curriculum database.
